The person behind Great Bay.
Brian Hughes
Founder & Executive Recruiter
Brian has been recruiting since 1997. Before starting Great Bay Staffing Group in 2008, he worked with larger national firms, including searches for Fortune 500 employers. He wanted to build a business where the conversations stayed personal and people always knew who they were working with.
His approach is straightforward: understand the work, ask good questions, be responsive, and don't waste anyone's time. That applies whether he's helping an employer think through a difficult opening or helping a candidate prepare for an interview and decide if the opportunity really fits.
Over the years, Brian has recruited across Healthcare, Manufacturing & Engineering, technology, and other business functions. Today, Great Bay focuses on the first two practice areas, supported by specialist recruiters in the NPAworldwide network. Brian also leads NPAworldwide's Healthcare Practice Group.
Recruiting has changed a great deal since the days of fax machines and file cabinets. Brian uses current recruiting technology and automation where they help, while keeping the relationship between people at the center of the work.
Outside of recruiting, you'll find Brian skiing, golfing, or taking on another project at the family lakehouse in Maine. He's also a Taekwondo black belt—and takes a good cup of coffee seriously.
